Staff this year have found the art of simplicity.  For instance, the Week Seven talent show was simply titled '7'.

Hosts entered, some waving flags, others with body guards.

You might be wondering what the inscription below the title means.  "The boyz are back" refers to these five "boyz" who hosted last year's Week Seven talent show.

Now, last year some of their skits did not sit quite as well with Tom as they might have hoped.  So, when they began the infamous belt length skit, Tom quickly came out of the curtains and chased them off stage.

First up was Jack M. and company performing 'Sunshine of your love' by Cream.

And once Tom chased the remaining member of the belt skit off the stage, he announced the next act.

Alyssa, though nervous before the show, flawlessly performed a rehearsed dance to "Zero to Hero' from the Disney movie Hercules.

Next up was Jenna D. with 'Fanfare' on the flute.

Next, Mitch F. juggled while Steven W. pretended to be Stewie from show Family Guy.

Next, Megan and Sam performed a dance to the song "Everybody Dance Now".

Mel, Julia, and Rebecca performed an original skit.  In it, Campus Kids campers are swept first to camp Minisink, then to another planet of packages (Matt Brown's Planet) and finally back to CK-NJ.

PJ, Matt, and Ari performed a dance to the song Thriller.

Lexi S. sang "This One is for the girls"

Next up, Matt, Matt, Mike and Ben performed "What I Got".

Next up, with help from Jimmy, Floyd, and Jay, Jack C. and Jibran performed to show what they had learned in boys dance, with a medley of hip-hop songs.

Next, Jess, Giorgi and Courtney sang the song "California" substituting their own lyrics about camp.

Next, Bryce and Jackson brought the bitter Yankee/Red Sox rivalry on stage.  By the end, the mindless anger of sports fans in the chapel had caused there to be no winner in the hockey-stick battle.

The next act was special.
Teri is notorious for the 5 piece of trash pick up rule (she was recently at a concert and had to fight the urge to tell the entire crowd of Randall's Island to pick up five pieces of trash).  Andy came out onto stage and began tossing crumbled pieces of paper on the ground.  Teri, from the audience, screamed at him and ran up.  Then, Andy told Teri that she was so good at picking up trash that she could do it blindfolded.

So she began.  I spoke with Teri after the show.  Apparently, she was told that a few of her campers were going to do a skit about garbage, and she was to be the intro.

As unsuspecting Teri searched, Dave and Dave began tuning their guitars.

It has become a tradition here at Campus Kids to serenade counselors with personalized songs.  Usually, they are called up from their seat, like Paul was in the last talent show.  This time was different.

As Andy removed the blindfold, she saw that she had been fooled, and that this time, the song was to be performed about her.

In her own words, she "couldn't laugh or say anything, so [she] cried".  And as her tears of shock and joy ran down her face, the same tears swelled in the eyes of many people watching.
So the song began.  It was a parody the song "Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms.

And Teri laughed and cried the entire time.

And as if the night couldn't get more sentimental, the Super Duper Seniors (a nickname given to campers in their last year of camper eligibility) got up to sing "With a Little help from my Friends.

After the song, many campers took the microphone to thank Campus Kids and reminisce about the many years they had spent here (and even dictate some thinly veiled attempts at altering next year's hiring policy).

And with that the show was over.  Stu took the microphone, and after a quick shake of the booty, reminded the campers, whose words sounded like the last they would ever say, that there was still one more fabulous week ahead of them.
Many thanks to Jeremy for technical help.

And the hosts, Dave, Paul, Ryan, Jack, and Andy.  Their intros were wonderful, and decidedly better than last year.
