Canteen had
ended. Bunk meetings were drawing to a close. Campers were going
to bed. Unbeknownst to them was the fact that as their sleepy eyes
closed for the night, their counselors would not be following suit.
No, instead, they were heading off to the gym (those who had the night off)
for a little game of basketball-Staff only. |
After sides were chosen, and
warm-ups completed, the game was on. |

Now, I am not a
sports writer. I never have been, never will be. So from my
standpoint, when a shot looks good and doesn't go in, I still think its a
good shot. I'm probably not the best person in the world to cover a
basketball game, but there I was, camera in my hand, watching an intense
game of basketball between counselors. So in that spirit, I present to
you, the staff basketball game. |

Thanks to DJ Josh
Katz, whose expertise extended as far as putting the Bruce Springsteen disc
in the disc player, eager fans, not exactly on the edge of their seats, but
nonetheless interested, the gym was alive with music. |

In the end, the
team (for lack of a better name, because neither team chose one) lead by
Floyd (with several slam dunks) won it. It might be hard to determine
if the popular phrase "Everyone's a winner at Campus Kids" extends to
counselors off the clock, but it seems fair to say that everyone, at the
very least, had a great time. |
