Fred Allen once said "A celebrity is a person who works hard all his life to become well known, then wears dark glasses to avoid being recognized".  Well, here at Campus Kids, the dark glasses are just one piece of the often elaborate wardrobe which campers don in the game of Celebrity Dress-Up.

Each group, after hearing what they were about to do, went back to their dorm, and returned with a pillowcase full of clothes, accessories, and whatever other props might be needed to portray (including the return of The Tire) as accurately as possible the celebrity, be they real people, or fictional or cartoon characters.

Hosting and judging was done by Jack, David, and Sara.

The first celebrity that sent the campers into a mad panic was Spongebob Squarepants.  "That's not a celebrity," screamed a counselor.  "That's a fictional character!"  Nevertheless, groups scrambled, and short of living in a pineapple under the sea, created costumes that, at the very least, gave the impression of the character they were trying to portray.

Next came the American Idol Judges.  This celebrity dress up was less about the clothes that were worn, and more about how accurately they captured the character's persona.  The contestants, or rather the people playing the contestants, were Jack and Teri, who sang their hearts (and lungs) out.

While most groups' costumes consisted or sunglasses for Paula, and a large stomach for Randy (who no longer needs the beer belly on account of modern medicine), the timeless rhetoric displayed by those portraying Simon was where the points were scored.  There were some cold statements spoken that sent contestants home crying (or back to the sundial in order to choose the next celebrity).

"Barbie and Ken!" said the voice over the loud speaker.  Ironic, because in non-co-ed groups, this would encourage cross-dressing.  This was a task that many were not afraid to embark upon.

After a few other rounds, which included Elvis and Paris Hilton, the final category was announced.  It was the cast of Seinfeld.  While some groups had never seen the show, others were so familiar with it that they could do the Elaine dance.

In the end, the Traveling Pants won, although it was a close match.  Their prize-Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins at breakfast the next day.  And they enjoyed them while dressed in their own clothes.
