Campers who were
here way back when will remember the days of filing neatly into the basement
of Lotte Hall, lining up along the hall leading to the door of the
now-sports room, and receiving a highly sophisticated film (yes, film)
camera, and then, after having taken many pictures, during which adjusting
the white balance, contrast, and many other specifics that would have to be
perfect in order to produce a perfect photograph was necessary, walk into a
pitch black room, see a red light and smell the familiar odor of developing
chemicals, and begin the complex task of refining the photo so that its
projection onto the delicate white paper would be perfect.
Campers today
have it a little different. The name of the game these days is Digital
Photo. As opposed to photography, digital photo focuses on teaching
campers the essentials of not only taking pictures, but editing them as
well. |
