It all started at announcements on Tuesday.  Deanna, reading the package list, read the name "Global Rover".  Most campers thought nothing of it.  Some even thought it was an actual camper's name.

As Tuesday became Wednesday, speculation increased about what this "Global Rover" was.  It was revealed to campers that it was an activity that would take place Wednesday after lunch, but nothing more.  Speculators chose numerous landmarks in and around Hackettstown: the ice skating rink, the pool, the M&M Mars factory, the fish hatchery, a state park, and even the Liberty Science Center.

When preparing to leave, some people dressed according to their assumption: in Matt and Danny's case, they assumed we were going to a water park.

A mysterious flyer had been handed out, outlining the fact that long sleeve shirts and water bottles were needed.  Why some people thought it would be necessary to bring a sweatshirt to a water park is beyond me.

Campers waited for the bus as they continued to incorrectly speculate where they were going.

They took group photos, incorrectly speculating as to where they were going.

The fanned themselves with paper to keep cool while incorrectly speculating as to where they were going.

They boarded the buses, while incorrectly speculating as to where they were going.

They found their seats while incorrectly speculating as to where they were going.

They took a fifteen minute bus ride while incorrectly speculating as to where they were going.

Then, they saw where they truly were going.

Campus Kids, in the camp community, would be laughed at for taking 300 people to a movie theater.  But bear in mind: he who laughs last, laughs in air conditioning.

And campers, on this 101 degree day, were ecstatic to find out that their final destination would be twenty degrees cooler than at camp.

The movie that we were there to see was "Cars".  For the sake of those who have not yet seen the movie, that is all I will say.

And many took advantage of the masks at the theater.

It took three buses two trips to get everyone here, and two theaters to hold everyone, but thanks to logistical planning by Jeremy and Sara, not one major problem was encountered.

To give every camper a five dollar popcorn from the concession stand might bankrupt the camp (though to be fair, due to higher percentages of revenue taken from ticket sales from movie theaters by motion picture companies, one of the only ways to stay in business is to charge a hefty sum for a pre-movie snack), so campers enjoyed individualized packs of popcorn (and Sun Chips).

In case you ever happen to be in the following circumstance, I suggest you refrain from the following.  When the movie is just beginning, people working at a movie theater are not too keen on people taking flash photography at the screen.

Once the movie was over, normal camp activities resumed-at the theater that is.  Campers began signing up for activities...

...and being completely goofy.
