Off behind Anderson, past the library, through the construction zone, and in front of the tennis courts is a tent.  Each morning, Staff Assistants take down the sides of the tent to let it air out during the day, and at day's end, they drag their weary bodies back to put the sides back up and lock it for the night.  Occasionally, they take a rest on the tumble track.  I speak, of course, of the gymnastics tent.  Gymnastics is a popular activity, and because of that, it adequately equipped with all the materials needed to pull of any move.

This week, the entire camp gathered around the tent to watch the annual gymnastics show.

Many sat drenched from the slip and slide that had just taken place.

Hosts Beniah and Jay (seen) and Floyd and Jessica welcomed campers to this year's gymnastics show.  They introduced the gymnasts, who promptly came running from their hiding spot on the side of Anderson Hall.

It began with floor exercises.

The pressure of having 300 people staring at and judging each move seemed to be completely absent from the minds of performers.

Once campers had finished, Floyd and Jay proved that "gymnastics isn't just for girls".

Next came tricks from the tumble track (or as many people outside of the gymnastics community call it, that long trampoline).

The last part was perhaps the most entertaining to watch-it was a competition.  Campers had to propel themselves off of a trampoline, and try to get over a mounting stack of obstacles.

And counselors gave the highest obstacle a shot, passing them flawlessly and eloquently.

When it was over, the group lined up and took a bow to a loudly cheering audience.

And as per the fact that the entire camp was there, announcements took place right there.  And the announcements song was lead by the group of gymnasts who were finally able to breath a sigh of relief.

As did their coaches.
