Ultimate Frisbee, Ga-Ga, basketball, fencing, gymnastics, soccer, tennis, swim, dodge ball, spud, hackey sack, pilates, Newcomb, volleyball -- the list of active sports is endless.  Sometimes campers simply need a break.  Running around in the hot sun is fun, but overwhelmingly tiring.  This is why there exists an activity entitled "Shade" (both afternoon and evening).

It is a restful time.  Many lie down to take a break from the hectic day.

Others, well, don't seem to have an off button.  Even with the ability to rest in the cool shade, they decide that they would rather run than sit.

As always, Ffrisbee is a popular sport.

Organized games cease to exist in the quad, but a friendly and competitive game of catch takes place daily.

Another sport gaining popularity at Campus Kids is football, and the pigskin can be seen whizzing through the air frequently.

Impromptu games of baseball also seem to spring up on occasion.

Many find shade under an umbrella with a good book.

Others make it a time to play guitar, people singing along the whole time.

Jookie tournaments are also a favorite of the less active.

And, of course, the age old game of who can keep their hand on the sundial the longest.

More than anything, though, shade provides a time to hang out and relax.  It is structured unstructured time.  And as you can plainly see, the Goonies, do in fact, like to chill with the ladies.
As does their head counselor.
