Shoe Golf

It may seem peculiar to see campers walking across the quad with only one shoe on.  But rest assured, there is a valid reason for this.

The game is shoe golf.

It is quite easy to play, though I suggest doing it with a pair of shoes that you don't plan on keeping clean.  A target, around which there are no people, is chosen, and contestants try, in as few attempts as possible, to hit the target, be it a tree, bench, or security building.

Tiger Woods doesn't know how good he has it.

And after an exhilarating game of shoe golf, the best place to take a breather is the clubhouse (the Gazebo supplements the lack of a clubhouse).

Shoe Golf has been here at Campus Kids for several years, and there is one story that is told repeatedly in this activity.  Zack S., a current camper, did this activity frequently several years ago.  And, as the story goes, he got his shoe stuck on the top of the library four times.  It was beginning to be an annoyance, so his counselors made him wear sandals to lunch.  It was at this lunch that he dropped his plate onto his foot.  Folklore never dies.
