It's odd: in the
cafeteria, when someone is told to "Shake their booty", more often than not
they will not. But when the entire camp is present in the quad,
people's first instinct is to do so. But that's not what I am going to
talk about in this episode of the CK Social Mixers. Not everyone likes
to dance. I myself was born with locked knees and bolted hips.
So, on this night, what do people do when they don't feel like dancing? |
As per the usual,
Frisbees could be seen whizzing from one side of the quad to the next.
Football, too, was an added activity that could be found near the path to
Reeves Hall. |

Some decided that
dancing and walking were too tedious. |
Others simply
wanted to sit, enjoy the music, and hang out. |
|
|
Some people had
prepared themselves for the dance. |
Other had prepared to go to prom. |
|
|
And some people
did what they do best. |

Perhaps the most participated-in
non-dance activity was Limbo. After taking off the bristles of a
broom, the handle was held at the waist of Jeremy and Paul, maracas shaking,
as campers and counselors alike contorted themselves into positions
chiropractors would cringe at. |

|
The line for the
Limbo seems endless, but at you can plainly see, it was one that rarely
shortened. |

|
But as usual,
other activities came to a halt as Piano Man's mournful harmonica intro hit
the ears of all those around. It was one of the largest swaying
circles this reporter has ever seen, with outer points stretching from the
steps of Lotte to the sundial. |

Even when a
camp-wide activity has everyone in the same place, campers are still given
the choice of what they want to do. And if someone would rather throw
around a disc than shake their booty, they have the freedom to do so. |
