Can I get an R?!
Can I get an L?!
Can I get another E?!
Can I get an A?!
Can I get a D?!
How about an I?!
Second to last an N?!
Finally a G?!

                  WHAT DOES THAT SPELL?!

                       Today there was an
                  exciting activity period of
                     Cheerleading with the
                  Supers. (oldest campers)
                Luke, Becky, and Kimmie were
                 the counselors in charge of
                               the period.
They headed off to the turf, and then started off the period by stretching and a quick cardio workout to get their muscles warmed up!
Then they learned different positions such as moves called "Touchdown", "High V", "Candlestick", "L", "Clean", and many more.
Everyone proceeded to learn jumps such as "Toe-touches", "Pikes", and "Hurkeys".

The counselors led by excellent example, and the campers anxiously tried it with great effort!   After all of this, the campers began the part in which they were all looking forward to...Stunts!
                                      With a lot of
                                    preperation, the
                                    campers were
                                 able to
                                   participate in all
                                   aspects of
                                   the stunt- flying,
                                 basing, and
                                 spotting.

Everyone had a lot of fun at cheerleading. Both guys and girls were able to try out this cool sport! It showed that cheerleading isn't just cheering loudly and smiling big; (although that is part of it) it's also about strength, courage, flexibility, and many other challenging skills needed to be able to cheer. Once the period was over, the counselors cart-wheeled off the Turf and everyone headed to announcements!
