The time had come. One of the most
anticipated events at CK was about to begin...the Ultimate Frisbee
Tournament! Now for those of you who do not know, ultimate frisbee is
not just a sport, it is a lifestyle here at Campus Kids which makes
particpation in this tournament even larger than the others of the
summer. This year, the tournament fell during weeks 7 and 8
under the name: The "Campus Kids 2011 Oxymoronic Ultimate Frisbee
Tournament" Tournament! After about a week of intense games, it was time
to declare a victor between the two final teams... |

The Anti- Missile Missiles |
You could tell that this was a game to be watched by sheer numbers, more
than half of the camp poured into (and under) the bleachers to watch the
final sporting event of the summer! |
The large crowd didn't
intimidate the 2 teams as they calmly warmed up by throwing a few disks
around. |
And with that, it was time to start! |
Both teams were looking
extremely stong and evenly matched as the Anti-Missile Missiles scored a
quick two points... |
and Calculated Risk tied up the
game almost immediately. |
Play continued on with
beautiful catches and throws by both teams, but before we knew it, the
half was over! |
But of course the crowd was
entertained throughout the entire half time as commentators Ste, Simon,
and Jake provided witty insight... |
interviews with guest Alec and
various players... |
and a spontaneous and hilarious cheerleading performance by counselors
Laura, Parker, and Gabby! |
There wasn't too much time for
fun and games because a winner still needed to be determined! |
As time ticked away, the Anti-Missile Missiles were victorious in a 5-2
win over Calculated Risk. |
Showing good sportsmanship,
both teams shook hands and congratulated each other on a game well
played. |
At announcements, the
Anti-Missile Missiles were presented with a beautiful trophy that was
promptly given to Duper camper Eric who played in his final CK
tournament after 7 years of being a camper. |
Special thanks to tournament
coordinators Rachel, Lurrie, and Gabby and congrats to both teams! |
