Weird Show
by Lindsey Jacobs

weird [weerd]
adjective
1.involving or suggesting the supernatural
2.fantastic; bizarre
3.concerned with or controlling fate or destiny

If we are simply using the dictionary definition to describe the annual Weird Show, we may need to do a bit of tweaking. To start, the first and third bullets listed above simply do not fit and the second half of number 2 doesn't seem appropriate either. However, the word "fantastic" describes every aspect of this outstanding show. All of CK was in for a treat as they sat down for a show filled with beautiful dancing, impressive gymnastics and drumming that could rival many musical icons.
Remy started the night off with an original rap which was followed by a wonderful recorder performance by the Leadership Team who also happened to be the hosts of the night!

First up was the dance portion of the show!
The freshmen and sophomores taught the crowd how to whip their hair...

while the juniors and seniors made Britney Spears proud by dancing to her song "Hold it Against Me".

Next up were the dance counselors who showed off their inner "Diva".
The super seniors then graced the stage with an entertaining Salsa routine, but were then pushed off the stage by some eager counselors who wanted to join the fun!

The final act of the dance portion of the show was a cheerleading routine filled with stunts and tumbling.

The audience then got to take a peek into the Leadership Team's heads with the help of some hysterical thought bubbles!

But there was only a little time for shenanigans from the hosts because it was time for gymnastics! First up was a routine by the freshmen and sophomores...
which was followed by the juniors and seniors...
and then the super seniors!
After all of the campers performed, it was time for the gymnastic counselors to show off their most creative flips and tricks.
The hosts then graced the stage again by performing a camp based sound train!
Finally, it was time for the drums section!
First up were the freshmen and sophomores with a Blue Man Group inspired performance complete with confetti and blue face paint.
After, the supers and seniors, accompanied by counselors Al and Ste, amazed the audience with a truly outstanding percussion performance using only drum sticks and chairs!
The final skit of the night introduced the intelligent, yet very rare, wild animal Milos. With the help of Sean, his assistants Katie and Kim, and counselors Nina and Doug, Milos performed an amazing trick for the audience!
The finale of the Weird Show was an combination of drums, dance and gymnastics!
Of course no show would be complete without the classic Stu Booty Shake! Congrats to all who performed- you were all great!
