This photo journal is part four
in a four part series, which documented all the hard work that the staff
assistants do. |
Team D does mostly everything
you will see on the Campus Kids website, which includes taking pictures
daily, writing photo journals, and conducting staff interviews |
There are three Team D staff assistants, and each is assigned to a
different activity area to take pictures each day. |
One member of Team D goes to
take pictures of sports. |
Another Team D member will take pictures of performing arts activities. |
The Team D member that is not
taking pictures of sports or performing arts will take pictures of art
related activities. |
Taking pictures is not the only
job of Team D. They also must edit and upload them to the website! The
first part of this process is editing the pictures on a photo editing
software. |
The first step to editing a
picture is using the one step photo fix tool. This automatically makes
the picture have an overall better look. |
Then, the photo must be resized
for your viewing pleasure. |
If the photo was not resized it
would look huge to the viewer when it's clicked on. Try clicking on the
picture to the left to see what happens! |
After the photos are edited, they go up onto the website using Microsoft
Expression Web. |
Besides putting up pictures,
Team D also writes photo journals. |
Photo journals may be written
about shows, activities, or special events that go on at camp. Each
member of Team D roves around campus looking for the perfect story. |
Much like taking pictures for
the galleries, the pictures for the photo journals are then edited, and
Team D then writes a story about the pictures they just took. |
The last job Team D has is to
interview the staff members. Usually, a few interviews are posted on the
web site each day. |
Team D uses a template to write
each interview. |
This is the finished product! |
And where does all of this hard
work get done? Team D is always hard at work in the comfy confines of
Annie Hall! |
All in all, Team D does lots of
work each day to make sure the website runs smoothly. They have fun
though, as they get to walk around camp and experience the many awesome
activities there are at Campus Kids. Who wouldn't want a job like that? |
