The Big CK-NJ Reunion Blizzard!

A Texan Goes Snowboarding

So what do you do when you've come all the way from Texas for a camp reunion that is cancelled?  If you're Jeremy's houseguest, you go snowboarding!  Beginners Ryan and Jay were both up for some lessons from certified snowboard instructor Jeremy.  They tried to get to Mountain Creek (remember the Weekend Adventure?), but were turned back by the howling blizzard, so they made the best of things and took to the gentle slopes of County College of Morris (before they were thrown out by a maintenance man).  Despite fearing for his life, Jay managed to take a few pictures.

Jay wanted to show the folks back home that he actually made it to New Jersey.  He would rather have been in the warm confines of the CK reunion roller rink.

The fellows stopped at the local Pelican shop to rent the snowboard equipment for Ryan and Jay.  Jay had to be dragged into the shop.  We didn't want to show you that picture.  He needs to maintain some dignity.

You may know that Jay's a Texas school teacher, so he was quite interested in this "Jersey math" on the Pelican rental agreement.  They must do arithmetic differently in Texas!

Well, somehow they got Jay all the way out to the "slopes", though he still looks a little skeptical.  From this point on there is no photographic evidence of Jay actually using his snowboard.  You'll have to ask Jeremy or Ryan what really happened.

Jay calls this picture "The Challenge".  It looks pretty scary.

Jeremy gives Ryan some pointers.

Ryan must not have listened to the pointers.

"The Challenge" lives up to its name, even for an experienced boarder like Jeremy.
